Danish companies are at the forefront when it comes to contributing to green transition and sustainability and the Nordic region is recognised as a leader in the green agenda, paving the way for development of innovative ideas and solutions which benefit the climate, the environment, and society.

Nordic Innovation Award is a new initiative that celebrates sustainable innovation from entrepreneurs and SMEs who have secured intellectual property rights, such as patents, trademarks, or designs.

The aim of the award is to honour scalable new ideas with the potential to promote sustainable development. The award also highlights the importance of intellectual property rights for growth, jobs, and competitiveness.

Nordic innovation with sustainable potential

The award seeks to raise awareness and create understanding of intellectual property rights among entrepreneurs and SMEs by celebrating Nordic innovations that could contribute to a more sustainable world.

Sune Stampe Sørensen, Director General of the Danish Patent and Trademark Office, states:

“Nordic Innovation Award is both a tribute and an incentive for the ongoing efforts of entrepreneurs and small and medium-sized enterprises in developing and protecting innovations within the Nordic region and globally. Through this award, we celebrate those who think innovatively and safeguard their ideas through IP rights such as patents, trademarks, and designs for the benefit of a more sustainable future.”
